Dictionary

Teach Ottex your vocabulary so it never misspells the words that matter most.

AI models don't know your company name, your colleague's unusual name, or that niche technical term you use daily. The Dictionary fixes that.

How It Works

When you add a word to the Dictionary, Ottex feeds it as context to the AI model during transcription. The model uses this hint to correctly recognize and spell the word when you say it.

This works especially well for:

  • Brand names — "Ottex", "LazyGit", "Figma"
  • People's names — "Dmitri", "Xiaowei", "Ananya"
  • Technical terms — "Kubernetes", "OAuth", "WebSocket"
  • Abbreviations — "HIPAA", "GDPR", "CI/CD"
  • Foreign words — words from other languages you use in English context

Adding Words

  1. 1Open Ottex and go to the Dictionary section in the sidebar
  2. 2Click "+ Add new" in the top right
  3. 3Type the word exactly as you want it spelled
  4. 4Press Enter to save

TipSpell the word exactly how you want it to appear in your text. If you want "LazyGit" (not "Lazygit" or "lazy git"), enter it as "LazyGit".

Managing Your Dictionary

Your dictionary is shown as a simple list. Each word has a delete button on the right side — click the trash icon to remove a word you no longer need.

There's no limit to how many words you can add, but keeping the list focused on words that are actually hard for the AI to recognize gives the best results.

TipYou don't need to add common English words — the AI already knows them. Focus on proper nouns, brand names, and domain-specific terms that the model might get wrong.
